Background information

Pastel drawing

For as long as I can remember I have been constantly striving to be the very best artist I can be, from early on I made a point of studying the techniques of many of the great masters including (among others) Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Turner and Degas. I explored and had success with many mediums and styles including acrylics, pastels, water colour and coloured pencils. But it is with oils that I could get some of my best results. I have had several works accepted for exhibition at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London by organisations including The Pastel Society, The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, The Royal Society of Marine Artists and The Royal Society of British Artists.

I have always had a profound fascination in capturing the character of my subjects, whether it be a beloved family pet, a home that has so many memories or a landscape with moods that can range from deeply brooding to bright and celebratory. The joy of being able to capture that through my art is at the heart of what I do.
